Loved the pic of Goddess Durga in all her finery, loved the pics of mite ready to go to school and so happy to hear that the Brat is doing her homework by herself...dont worry about her reading, she will eventually get interested when her friends would talk about and discuss books they are reading.

You are right, last few days have been really busy with quite a few assignments due, office work, housework, hubby's birthday, Diwali party at my place, then actual Diwali, Diwali festival organised by Indian Community and on and on and on....

About this post, well, I have given up on politicians in general and the Indian public in particular, who destroy the public properties in the name of protests - its totally beyond my understanding. In my 12 years in NZ, I have never seen a single such incident of protestors torching a bus/train but I have seen many peaceful marches and the inboxes of national newspapers getting flooded with angry mails which had on several occasions, made the government take back its proposed bills. There is lot of vandalism where teenagers destroy/graffiti public properties like bus shelters etc but then that is tackled by police and there are heavy penalties if they get caught. But these are moslty teenagers doing stuff to vent out their energy or trying to be cool or someone high on drugs unlike India where the general adult public goes on smashing/burning the public transport (thats paid by their own tax money )at the drop of a hat - totally beyond me.Indian in NZhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11775633461738007949noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5282139581331978695.post-43464328150344877502008-10-28T23:14:00.000-07:002008-10-28T23:14:00.000-07:00Definitely Diya, we are Indians. Its not possible for a common man to avoid arrest even after a simple street fight, and he is roaming around with his own army of Goondas.Shame on our weak police and judicial system, they don't have enough back-bone to lock these Goondas up.
And let me tell you a very interesting fact.... Elections are around the corner, and no one can predict how many seats Shiv Sena and MNS together will get..... But there's one thing I can predict, People of Maharashtra are going to provide them a major role in government formation....
Who's to blame? We are Indians....Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5282139581331978695.post-21006812041042699282008-10-25T22:38:00.000-07:002008-10-25T22:38:00.000-07:00Rohit, we are also Indians, it is the politicians ...Rohit, we are also Indians, it is the politicians who do not stop at anything. Do you think the ordinary marathi manoos would beat up the boys much as Raj thackeray would have us believe. It is the goons who have been trained by Raj and indoctrinated by his party. I remember during Mandal there was a goonish representative from the congress who acted like a leader and was leading the small group assembled outside our college. This guy clearly could not belong to any college and was shouting cheap slogans calling VP Singh names. Slogans that I and my friends were very uncomfortable with. This character later disappeared when the Mandal recommendations were pushed through by the same cong that had opposed it!diyahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07467285543383068855noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5282139581331978695.post-12431213234399015442008-10-24T01:34:00.000-07:002008-10-24T01:34:00.000-07:00We, being Indian, don't believe in social responsi...We, being Indian, don't believe in social responsibility, and I think this is the root of the problem.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
